Popular social media commentator Daniel Regha has urged critics to stop bullying Super Eagles player Alex Iwobi.

DAILY POST reports that Iwobi was one of the players who came under criticism following Nigeria’s 2-1 defeat to Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday in the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.

The Fulham star eventually deleted all the pictures he put up on his official Instagram page after the AFCON final.

He played for 79 minutes as Jose Peseiro’s side failed to beat Cote d’Ivoire.

The former Arsenal and Everton player was replaced by Alhassan Yusuf for the final 10 minutes of the game.

However, in a tweet via his X account on Monday, Regha said: “2023 AFCON has ended; move on already. Stop bullying Alex Iwobi or anyone on the Super Eagles team; for crying out loud, it’s just a match and trophy.

“This toxic behaviour is why some players choose not to represent Nigeria in tournaments. We complain of oppression but often aim to drive people into depression once things don’t go our way. Stop!”
