The Governorship/National and State House of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal for Adamawa State has been relocated from the state capital, Yola, to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The tribunal said in a statement that the relocation is with immediate effect.

The statement, obtained by DAILY POST Thursday morning, indicated that all cases already allocated hearing dates have been adjourned till further notice.

Signed by the Tribunal Secretary, Elsie Akpan, the statement said the relocation order was given by the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem.

Dated 24th May 2023, the notice of relocation reads, “Sequel to the directives of the Honourable President, Court of Appeal, Hon Justice MB Dongban-Mensem dated 23rd day of May 2023, the Adamawa State Governorship/National and State House of Assembly Election Tribunal has been relocated to Abuja for further proceedings.

“All petitions with dates for hearing are adjourned till further notice. Fresh dates and venue of sitting will be communicated to parties.”

The notice did not mention any reason for the relocation of the tribunal from Yola to Abuja.
