Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is ready to let Aymeric Laporte leave if the Premier League champions sign RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol.

According to BBC (via Manchester Evening News), if Man City manage to secure Gvardiol’s transfer this summer, Laporte will reportedly be informed that he can leave Etihad.

Despite the uncertainties surrounding Laporte’s future at Man City, the Spanish defender remains actively involved in Guardiola’s pre-season plans.

Laporte has been linked with a move away from Man City as he has fallen in the pecking order.

After playing 33 Premier League games in the 2021/2022 season, the 29-year-old played just 12 league games last season for the Citizens.

However, despite Gvardiol being Guardiola’s primary target this summer, Man City seems hesitant to meet Leipzig’s £85 million asking price for the 21-year-old defender.
